Trekkers rescued from Lukla
The government on November 20 rescued trekkers who were stranded in Lukla for over a week due to cancellation of flights owing to bad weather. Choppers of Nepal Army and some private companies airlifted the trekkers to Kathmandu.

Youths collecting donation from tourists in net
Police on October 25 took two Maoist cadres under control for forcefully collecting ‘donation’ from trekkers in Lakuridanda in Dolakha district. Travel trade entrepreneurs have taken the incident as the positive move ahead of Nepal Tourism Year The police swung into action after the tourists informed police headquarters about the forceful donation collection. The police headquarters then informed Dolakha police that within two hours arrested the youths and returned Rs 10,000 collected from two microbuses ferrying the tourists to Jiri.

Ban on tourists to Upper Mustang lifted
The people of Upper Mustang have decided to withdraw their decision to prohibit the entry of tourists to the Upper Mustang after the government assured to address the demands raised by them. "The government has, albeit lately, addressed the demands raised by the people of Upper Mustang. Keeping in view the upcoming Nepal Tourism Year 2011 campaign, special requests by TAAN and negative impact that the decision could make in our tourism industry, we have decided to completely withdraw our decision of prohibiting the entry of tourists to the Upper Mustang from October 1," read a statement issued by the Upper Mustang Youth Society on Sunday.
