This page will give you exact festival dates in Bhutan. We try our best to update and double check the exact dates, so that those festival dates are correct. Bhutan has their own festival calendar and this is totally different than the western caledar. Festival in Bhutan known as Tsechu, or "Tsechu" means Festival, offer the visitor an opportunity to see the colourful mask dances and religious art forms of Bhutan and Bhutanese culture or there way of life. It gives visitor an opportunity to interact with the local people.
Bhutanese dances known as "Cham" bring blessings upon the onlookers, to instruct them in the teachings of the Buddhist dharma, to protect them from misfortune and to exorcise evil influences. It is a religious festival and it is believed one gains merit by attending it. It is also a yearly social gathering where the people rejoice together, dressed in their finest clothing and jewellery.
