One of our most popular trips is the Tibet Encounter Tour where you make a journey overland taking the road from Lhasa to Kathmandu (or vice versa) passing the major cities in Tibet. On the way we go through high mountain passes, visit many interesting places and experience the local inhabitants and their culture.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01: Transfer to airport for Kathmandu / Lhasa flight. Upon arrival, meet by our Tibetan representatives and transfer to your hotel in Lhasa.
Day 02: Sightseeing tour of Potala palace, Sera and Norbulinka overnight at hotel in Lhasa.
Day 03: Sightseeing tour of Drepung, Jokhang temple and Barkhor. Overnight at hotel in Lhasa.
Day 04: Drive to Gyantse via Yamdrok Lake and visit Palchor Chode and Kumbum. Overnight at hotel in Gyantse.
Day 05: Drive to Shigatse and visit Tashi Lunpo monastery and local Market. Overnight at hotel in Shigatse.
Day 06: Drive Shigatse to Shegar and overnight at hotel in Lhatse or Shekar.
Day 07: Drive to Rongbuk, sightseeing of Rongbuk Monastery- excursion to Everest Base Camp and overnight at hotel in Rongbuk.
Day 08: Drive to Nyalam and overnight at hotel in Nyalam.
Day 09: Drive up to Friendship Bridge (Nepal / Tibet border). After immigration formalities drive to Kathmandu
