We set of October 19th to trek the Annapurna circuit. Unfortunately due to bad weather we turned around at Pisang after hearing reports of 3 meters of snow on the Thorung La pass. Pawan our guide, was very informative and helpful getting rooms for us in nice teahouses. Returning to Besi sahar, we (again) took the very exciting bus ride to Dumre, where we immediately jumped on a bus to Pokhara. The next day we set off for Ghorapani, Poon Hill and the Base Camps and Machhapuchhre and Annapurna. This time the weather co-operated beautifully and we had gorgeous weather the entire trek. Pawan was very knowledgeable about all of the routes we took and all of the mountains we saw. He even taught us little Nepali- I learned how to order “EK CUP DUDH CHYAA”. Pawan is now our Bhaai (Brother). Had a great time trekking around the Annapurna and to Base Camp. There is no way I could have made it if it wasn’t for Pawan our great guide and porter!! We love Nepal and all the people we have meet along the trail.
When we make it back to Nepal we will be looking up “Nature Trail” again!
