Sikles village trek is a real off the beaten path trek through beautiful villages! Although close to the main trekking routes in the Annapurna region, it is a far less developed route with very few lodges or guest houses. However, our destination is the beautiful and extremely well kept village of Sikles, perched on a hillock at an altitude of 2000 meters. Walk along beautiful rhododendrons and many other native flora and fauna species!
The Sikles village is famous for its very well maintained rustic flair and there are few better examples of a traditional Gurung village. That means, village lanes are narrow & these are flanked by stone & mud houses. Moreover, village has five traditional neighborhoods, each bearing its own significance in the community. Sikles is a perfect example of a sustainable village, with food mostly grown locally and energy created from hydropower. Therefore, Sikles village is completely self-sustaining.
However, the trek itself is casual, allowing time to study the wealth of flora and fauna to be found on route. Get to know the real Nepal whilst walking along some breathtaking views of the Annapurnas. You reach Sikles following the ancient trails of Madi river through the glorious Rhododendron, Oak and Bamboo forest. Once you reach Sikles, the wonderful views and fresh air will make you instantly reward you.
