The Langtang Valley trekking route leads us through one of the most beautiful valleys in Nepal and right into the Langtang Village. However, the highlight of this route is Kyanjin Gompa: The heart of the Langtang National Park. From here you get the chance to explore the area more detailedly: Among other options, there is a monastery and a breathtaking peak that wait for you. This is a classic trekking route to experience local culture and traditions. Enjoy beautiful mountain views, lush forests and streaming rivers. Especially the local flora and fauna of the Langtang National Park will leave you stunned: From various bird species, over Nepal’s famous yaks, on to the chance of seeing the white monkey and many more unique animals. Especially beautiful are the mountain villages: Not only the simple but colorful houses, but also the green fields create a very special atmosphere of simplicity here.
Langtang Valley is a famous region in the Himalayas, north of the Kathmandu Valley. It borders Tibet to the north and includes the Langtang National Park, where many local folks settled. The majority of its residents are Tamang. Especially unique for the Langtang area are the various flora and fauna species: Through the differing climatic zones in the park, there are many different trees, such as oak, maple, pines, rhododendron and many more. Animals that inhabit the park are, among others, black bears, white monkeys, red pandas, yaks, and various bird species. There are also stories that Yeti have been seen in the Langtang Valley.
Next to the Buddhist monastery in Kyanjin Gompa, another spiritual site are the Gosainkunda lakes, a pilgrimage site for Hindus. The original Langtang Village was completely swiped away in 2015, by a massive avalanche as result of the earthquake.
