The journey begins in Paro, where trekkers experience iconic landmarks such as Drukgyel Dzong, Bhutanese farmhouses, and the legendary Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) viewpoint overlooking the valley.
From Paro, the route gradually ascends toward the Chilila ridge through traditional villages, terraced farmlands, and dense Himalayan forests. The trail is rich in biodiversity, featuring rhododendrons, primulas, and alpine flora, especially during spring. As elevation increases, trekkers are rewarded with panoramic views of sacred Himalayan peaks including Mount Chomolhari, Jichu Drake, and Tserim Kang.
The trek continues through remote high-altitude camps like Chonana, Jebkarpo, Lower Mingula, and Thong, where travelers experience peaceful ridge walking and authentic yak herder settlements. These sections offer spectacular sunrise and sunset views over deep valleys and snow-covered mountains.
The route includes continuous ridge walking along the Chilila range, making it one of the best scenic nature treks in Bhutan. During this flight, one will experience breathtaking views of Mount Everest, KanchanJunga and other Himalayan Peaks including sacred Chomolhariand Mt Jichu Drake in Bhutan. On arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be received by a representative of Tours & Trek Ltd. then drive to Olathang Hotel throough Paro valley is enchanting. After lunch you will be taken to Ta-Dzong (Museum ). Overnight at Olathang Hotel.

Drive winding road northwest up the Pa Chu to Drukgyel Dzong, the ruined Fort, which once defended this valley from the Tibetan invasion. This fortress, now a burned shell, was once strategic in Bhutan;s defense against the Tibetan invasion. Mount Chomolhari, the sacred summit, reaches skyward beyond the Dzong. This can be viewed on a clear day. On the way back you visit a typical Bhutanese farm house. After lunch walk up the hill just above Olathang hotel to stretch your legs for the excursion to Taktsang Monastery view point can be arranged.

Alt. 3500m. distance 14Kms. Start trekking from Olathang Hotel. Most of the days walk is a gradual climb through Bhutanese farm houses. The view of Paro valley from the trail is excellent. Overnight in the Tent in Chonana.
