The Everest 8848m North Col Expedition (Qomolangma) is one of the most iconic high-altitude mountaineering journeys in the world, following the historic north side route from Tibet. This expedition is ideal for experienced climbers seeking a technically less crevassed but extremely demanding route to the summit of Mount Everest.
The journey begins in Kathmandu before crossing into Tibet and driving through Zhangmu, Nyalam, and Tingri to reach Chinese Base Camp. A carefully designed acclimatization schedule ensures climbers adapt safely to extreme altitude before progressing through Intermediate Camp, Advanced Base Camp (ABC), and the North Col route. With an extended climbing window, this expedition allows flexibility for weather conditions and summit pushes, maximizing safety and success.

Your Expedition begins when you arrive in Kathmandu where the staff of Nature Trail Trekking and Expeditions meets you in the airport and transfers you to your hotel. The next day, we will have an introduction section with other climbing members and the expedition crews and finish the last necessary documents for the Everest Expedition.
After day 3, we will drive you towards the Nepal-Tibet border up to Friendship Bridge through Arnico Highway, where the Chinese liaison officer and Chinese transport will meet us. The expedition gear goes by truck while we travel by a 4wd Land cruiser. We will take time to acclimatize with one night at Zhangmu (2300m) and two nights at Nylam (3750m), which also gives us the chance to trek up high hills for acclimatization.
Next day we drive to Tingri (4350m) where we will spend another two nights acclimatizing. We then proceed from Tingri to the Everest Base camp (5400m), following a rough way with jerking & bouncing through grassy plain ending at Everest Base Camp, which is also called Chinese base camp.
We set up our camp at Chinese Base Camp and stay two nights or more, depending on how everyone feels. We also make the schedules of the yaks by that time. Base camp is a temporary but comfortable affair with Nepali cook and dining tent. Now the two-day walk towards advanced base camp (ABC) begins.
After waking 2 days, we reach to ABC 6400m along with the Yaks. From ABC the route goes to the east Rongbuk glacier and after that there are easy snow slopes to the North Col at 7000m. This is where camp 1 is situated in the snow.
After that there are long snow slopes to climb which are reasonably steep up to 7400m to reach the place where we set up camp 2. The route from Camp 2 to camp 3 is typified by a series of rocks, which is little bit difficult, but after this part, there is a very easy terrain to walk ahead to set up camp 3. This camp 3 is at the height of 7900m on the mountain. This whole route is often very windy and especially between these two camps.
We proceed our route with again a series of rocky climbs, and continue our way on medium steep snow slopes with mixed rocks and snow. At 8400 meter we will reach camp 4. Now this camp is situated on the stony ground and to reach there, we have to climb for a while. The safety lines available will provide you with a safe feeling when the wind is blowing or when you are tired.
Camp 4 is the last camp before the climb to the Everest summit from the North East Ridge. From this point onwards, the route is mixed with rocks and snow steps. This part of the route is quite steep in many places so you require very considerable care for yourself, for your clothing and oxygen equipments.
After that, the North East Ridge is wide but we have to climb through small steps with little bit height until we arrive at the place where we have to climb again. After the climbing the area is little bit more exposed and it is more easy to reach ahead to the second part of steps. After the second steps the route continues in series of small nude ridge, which are sometimes covered with snow.
The route will get more and more difficult in the end. We will find a large boulder on the way where we have to use a ladder to climb over and have to climb with ropes to the next level. Above these steps, our route is relatively easy with gentle ground until we reach the third steps. Now the most difficult part is ahead of us where we have to use our ropes again to the Col before the final summit of snow slopes. They are very steep and with help of the gear we will get to the buttressed rocks from where there is a short section of corniced ridge to reach the Summit of Everest.
